Talking to your plants, or playing them music, makes them grow better.

Contested

Talking to or playing music for your plants won't grow them faster on its own — but the attention that comes with it will, because you'll spot thirst, pests, and shade sooner. Do it if you enjoy it; then act on what you notice.

What is actually known

There is no reliable, reproducible effect. The occasional positive result is explained by the attention that comes with it — someone who talks to their plants tends to notice thirst, pests, and light problems sooner. The proposed physical mechanisms (a trace of exhaled CO2, sound vibration) are far too small to matter against normal air and wind. Harmless, and the extra attention is genuinely good for the plants.

Evidence: not yet confirmed against its 1 source.

what this rests on - one pointer

no reproducible sound/speech growth effect; apparent benefit is attention/observation; horticulture-myth literature
